Rated 1 out of 5 by Johninthelakes from Short life of functionality I've been religiously spraying this stuff on the stone walls of my house and on my brand-new pressure treated planed T&G shed every 12 months for the last 3 years... hoping it would build up significant water-repellency in both stone and timber. It hasn't. It works great in the early days, beading over nicely when it rains, but it just don't last... even though I double-coated everything with plenty of fluid. I would have given them another coat this year but have realised I'm wasting my time and money. The shed turns almost black every time it rains because the surface takes on so much rain. I just tried a light spray with water on both stone walls of house and timber walls of shed and the water soaks in instantly. I'm now thinking of using a microporous wood-stain on the shed... which will last a minimum of 2 years before needing any slight touching-up and potentially many years before re-coating... but seem to remember instructions printed on the tin warning that adhesion would be poor after using this water repellent. It's possibly debatable if any brands of this kind of product work particularly well for any length of time, but this one certainly doesn't.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DoGer11 from Sealed - no nonsense - I hope. Probably the last time I will stand on my garage roof ( getting to old ), so hoping the seal gives no nonsense. In the current heat wave it took a day to prep and 2 days to coat. I splashed it all over. Fingers crossed it does the job. I calculated it needed 5 tins based on 4 metres per tin. Did it 3 and half. Luckily brought 4 cans. Hope this helps. Gave 1 to feature, performance and reliability and yes to recommending as it is to early to really comment and there is no opt out!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DIYdave1910 from Excellent Product Purchased to protect my new fence I built, really easy and fast to apply, saved loads on time vs traditional products but not easy to pour from container, would recommend large pale to decant into to reduce wastage. Used a rad roller and could treat individual slats in matter of seconds.

Can this be used on a solid oak countertop for outdoor use on a BBQ area?

If so how many coats are needed? Does countertop need to be covered in winter or when not in use?

Protecting from elements?

Hi, I have just started making miniature replica thatched cottages for gardens made from 8mm plywood and then painted.I would like to waterproof them to protect against the elements.Would this be suitable? (Before or after painting)

Will this primer seal MDF for outdoor use?

I need to cover. Side of a horse box, I want to seal the mdf and then paint it. Will it seal it to be water resistant and prevent swelling? Thanks

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. The issue with MDF is that it tends to swell if painted with liquids that are used to seal and keep out water. I a more waterproof board like marine ply that is water proof and doesn't need priming. I f you need to use MDF tis primer would be better, NO NONSENSE PRIMER & UNDERCOAT 2.5LTR (342FG) if your going to paint over with a sealer paint. Thank you for using Q&A.

Does it work on cracks in cement?

Having treated a Cedar wood surface with 2 coats, is it necessary to repeat the application in the future to maintain performance

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. There is no specific time frame for how long the item lasts before it needs re coating as this depends entirely on location, weathering, porosity of substrate, amount of traffic/wear etc. It will likely be that surfaces need to be re coated every 18 months ( 1 and a half years). HOWEVER, the manufacturer states that this should be applied as and when needed. Implementing a specific time frame may result in customers waiting too long to apply new coats, meaning that the repellent properties of the product could be compromised, Thank you for using Q&A.
