Why choosing right commercial plywood grade is so important?

Commercial plywood is widely and commonly used throughout the construction and building sector. Most of the cases, it's poplar to use for furniture from high grade commercial plywood, on the other hand; to use for temporary utility to manufacture pallets, machinery packaging, packing box, bounding wall....etc. In very few cases but it's poplar in China, commercial plywood can substitute as film faced plywood, but its reuse times is from 1 to 2 only.

The basic of commercial plywood specification

Core: poplar, hardwood, eucalyptus, or combi （these are commonly poplar wood core circulated in the current market with compromising quality and price competitiveness)

Face/Back: bintagor, red canarium, red hardwood, okoume, poplar, birch - they are natural veneer, lastly is engineered veneer.

Glue: it's something similar with other types of plywood as well, commonly is WBP (melamine) or (phenolic). However, it does not limit here, client market requirement may demand different level of glue specification based on the usage.

Two commonly preference grade of commercial plywood.

1.B/BB plywood: it normally comes with good grade veneer, AA grade or A+ core, glue is commonly MR or WBP (melamine) or E1 while the cold and 2 hot-presses process must be applied and are strictly monitored. As a result, B/BB grade plywood looks very smooth, flat, with very impregnated core and durable. Usage is for interior application such as roofing panel, furniture, sub-floor, or exterior application such likes fences, signs and in Australia, special case, may require fire retardant chemicals soak in side the veneer to have fire resistant plywood. About 70% of B/BB grade plywood are exported to Europe (EU) , USA, Canada , about 30% of B/BB grade plywood are exported to Middle East, Africa and other countries .

2. BB/CC: most of elements applied similarly as B/BB plywood grade for the specification and construction, However, appearance looks just satisfying, sometimes; there's found small dead knots on face of plywood and patches on the back. The inner core may have lower quality to high quality as well depending the final usage and price demand.About 50% of BB/CC grade plywood are exported to Europe (EU) , USA, Canada , about 50% of BB/CC grade plywood are exported to Middle East, Africa and other countries.

A technical recommendation that you don't need to have Back so that it reduces cost when you apply as wall, floor, roof...etc.
